G. F. Handel (1685-1759) - Messiah, HWV 56

O Messias, de Handel, é uma obra-prima. É uma obra cuja importância para o gênio humano a coloca ao lado de criações como O Davi, de Michelângelo, ou a Monalisa, de Leonardo da Vinci. Impressiona que Handel a tenha escrito num período de pouco mais de vinte dias. O Messias revela a capacidade de tornar imortal a beleza. A obra possui uma estrutura didática que a torna irresistível. (1) a anunciação, a promessa da vinda do Messias; (2) a vida do Messias e todos os seus milagres; (3) a morte, a ressurreição e a promessa da volta. A obra provoca um senso de profunda reverência à mensagem central do cristianismo, que a vida do seu messias. Não deixe de ouvir. Essa versão da Naxos não é das melhores. Há outras aqui no blog.
