George Frideric Handel (1685-1759) - "O Messias" - Messiahn (1751 version)

Sei que estou em dívida com a música barroca. Preciso ouvir mais aquela sonoridade suave, crivada de beleza e elegância. Entre as peças do repertório barroco, posso dizer que se existe uma que eu possuo familiriadade é O Messias de Handel. Nos últimos dez anos foi uma das peças que mais ouvi. Pareço conhecer cada curva da musicalidade do oratório mais famoso de Handel. A peça por si só é produto da genialidade do compositor alemão, radicado na Inglaterra. A composição se deu no ano de 1741. O tempo de duração da obra impressiona - mais de duas horas e vinte minutos. Mas, curiosamente, ao tempo em que nos detemos a ouvir, não nos enfadamos de maneira alguma. A música vai nos burilando, purificando, acrisolando, extraindo impurezas, até que estejamos mais serenos e pacificados. Penso que o homem moderno deveria ouvir mais oratórios como O Messias. Ele alargaria uma maior possibilidade de paz; de encontro de si mesmo; de tolerância; de esperança em melhores dias; de crença na beleza. Messias para os cristãos é identificado como a pessoa de Jesus Cristo. O oratório é dividido em três partes: (1) a anunciação profética de Jesus; (2) seu nascimento, vida e morte; (2) e a ascensão. Possui 51 movimentos entremeados de árias, recitativos, duetos, presença firme do coral etc. A sinfonia de abertura nos remete a uma experiência de reverência. É como se estivéssemos no deserto e de repente fossêmos surpreendidos por um daqueles antigos profetas hebreus. Sua presença insólita seria notada por todos pelo clamor solitário: "Confortai o meu o meu povo. Ide ao coração de Jerusalém e apregoai que o tempo de escravidão já cessou". Pois é isso que diz o recitativo com tenor do segundo movimento (Comfort ye my people). Não deixe de ouvir. Essa gravação da Naxos é um charme. Convidou-me a postar. Bom deleite!
