Neeme Järvi é um importante regente. Atualmente, com mais de oitenta anos, mora em Nova York. É pai de Paavo Järvi, Kristjan Järvi, ambos regentes; e da flautista Maarika Järvi. Neeme Järvi estudou na União Soviética. Foi aluno do lendário Euvgeny Mravinsky. Em 1971, ganhou um prêmio internacional. Em 1982, foi contratado pela Orquestra Sinfônica de Gotemburgo. Gotemburgo é segunda maior cidade da Suécia. É uma cidade portuária e abriga em seu território a sede da Volvo. Ao se estabelecer à frente da Orquestra, esta ganhou notoriedade, tendo aumentado o número de músicos e os patrocínios - a própria Volvo acabou patrocinando sinfônica. Järvi ficou durante vinte e dois anos à frente da orquestra. Tornou-se o regente que durou mais tempo à frente dessa importante orquestra. Atualmente, ele se tornou regente emérito da orquestra. Neste disco, temos um número bastante considerável de compositores escandinavos. Algumas obras desses compositores são completamente voltadas para os temas populares. Não deixe de ouvir.
